To Fall in Love Again

As a conversation about The Muppet's characters Statler and Waldforf turned into a debate about mustaches styles of the 20's we finally ended up discussing a topic that brought up memories of my childhood. Flaming Star.
Flaming star was a controversial film staring the one and only king of Rock and Roll, Elvis. Elvis plays the role of Pacer, yes Pacer. The half 'Indian' half 'Texan' who soon is torn between his two bloodlines. Thus resulting in a death scene of gold after the BATTLE OF A LIFETIME! Please enjoy.

Saturday Morning

From the day my mother birthed me, Cartoons have been my babysitter. Most young folks of my generation have grown out of this stage of adolescence. Naturally, they yearn for cartoons of the past, such classics as Ren and Stimpy, Muppet Babies, Spiderman, Smurfs, Rocko's Modern Life, Looney Toons, Xmen, Dexter's Laboratory, Pinky and the Brain, or even Gargoyles. I could go on and on. While I do agree that cartoons today are having trouble living up to such high standards set by those of generation X, I still enjoy sitting on my Saturday mornings eating cereal in my underwear for Toon Time. While some of the features have changed with age, no longer enjoying the luxuries of Lucky Charms with 2% milk, I settle for lactose free substitutes. The same can be said for the cartoons I watch. But as with time I have come to enjoy my healthier less toxic breakfast as I have the cartoons I pair it with. Here are some new cartoons and the reasons why they are the new reason to watch Saturday morning cartoons again.

That clip is from The Misadventures of Flapjack. It is on Cartoon Network, which I find still has the sense to put grotesque cartoons on the air. The cartoon is about a boy how wants to be a pirate. He lives inside of a Whale and loves to eat candy. The animation is amazing and the dialogue is really funny. The bizarre plot twists remind me of Ren and Stimpy as does the animation. this is a reason not to sleep in on a Saturday Morning for me!

That clip was from the show Chowder also on Cartoon Network. This series is about a hamster who loves to eat everything. He is training to be a chef and the majority of the characters are named after food.

While currently indulging myself in Saturday Cartoons I discovered a really great series. When I searched for it I realized that it was originally webisodes created by Amy Winfrey, who created some funny animated shorts I watched in Animation Class in college. Please check out her website and the Show 'Making Fiends'. I aspire to one day accomplish the same.
